BAKUMUN UPDATES
To host an event of this magnitude is something that we as a school are proud to do and it is certainly one that the British School in Baku will rise to. As a school we have always promoted education and debate, we have worked at extending that base to include global issues, the practice of which, is carried out not only in the classroom but also through our fund-raising activities.
We have a close working relationship with the UNHCR and have staged joint projects to raise awareness and much needed aid. An extension to this is our next venture, working with the authorities on a large and worthy programme to help the Internally Displaced Person’s programme.
As a school we feel strongly about our commitment to social and cultural enterprises. Our foundations are true, our commitment to the community is steadfast and our drive to succeed is proper.
The school motto ‘Learn to Live’ is an important one because it reminds us about who we are. It enhances our determination and it highlights our slogan that ‘together we are unstoppable’. Together we are a powerful force and our collaboration with the MEMUN only adds strength to it. Together we can strengthen our voice, together we can make a difference. Not only will we be heard but we will be seen to be heard and from that actions will follow – as they always do.
